What Will You Learn?

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the normal ECG complex, including key components and the physiology of cardiac conduction.
  • Learn to identify and analyze a wide range of dysrhythmias, including atrial, junctional, ventricular dysrhythmias, and AV blocks, allowing you to respond effectively in clinical situations.
  • Receive ample opportunities for hands-on ECG interpretation practice, reinforcing your learning and ensuring you can apply your skills in real-world scenarios.
  • Review the latest national treatment guidelines, including both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic management strategies for ECG abnormalities.

Course Content

Day 1: Understanding ECG Basics & Cardiac Conduction System
This session provides a structured overview of ECG fundamentals and the cardiac conduction system. Participants will explore the purpose of ECG monitoring, cardiac anatomy, and the interpretation of key waveform components. The curriculum covers normal sinus rhythm, interval measurements, and lead placement techniques essential for accurate monitoring. Practical case studies will reinforce the recognition of atrial dysrhythmias and clinical implications.

  • Module 1: Intro to ECG Basics
  • Module 2: Normal Sinus Rhythm and Sinus Dysrhythmias
  • Module 3: Cardiac Monitoring Devices and Lead Placement
  • Module 4: Atrial Dysrhythmias
  • ECG Practice

Day 2: Dysrhythmia Recognition & Clinical Intervention
Focus on the identification and management of complex dysrhythmias, including junctional and ventricular rhythms and AV blocks. Participants will learn evidence-based pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment strategies aligned with current guidelines. Hands-on ECG interpretation exercises will enhance clinical decision-making skills, ensuring participants can apply their knowledge to real-world patient care scenarios. The day concludes with a comprehensive review and Q&A session to solidify key concepts.

Post Course Knowledge Assesment
At the conclusion of the course, participants will complete a comprehensive knowledge assessment designed to evaluate their understanding of key ECG concepts, including rhythm interpretation, lead placement, and dysrhythmia management. A minimum passing score of 80% is required to demonstrate competency and receive continuing education credit. This assessment ensures that participants are equipped with the critical skills necessary for accurate ECG analysis and clinical decision-making.
