About Course

Respiratory distress is a critical warning sign of potential deterioration and requires prompt recognition and intervention. This 1.5-hour course provides nurses and nursing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, identify, and respond to breathing compromise effectively. Participants will learn to recognize early and late signs of respiratory distress, apply appropriate interventions, and determine when escalation of care is needed. 

Upon completion one (1) CE will be provided by Nurse Approved, LLC, a California BRN approved CEP #17734

What Will You Learn?

  • Recognize early and late signs of respiratory distress and breathing compromise.
  • Assess respiratory function using systematic evaluation techniques, including work of breathing, breath sounds, and oxygenation status.
  • Implement appropriate interventions such as oxygen therapy, positioning, and respiratory support to stabilize patients.
  • Determine when and how to escalate care for patients experiencing worsening respiratory distress.
